Lev. 23:23-25 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh.’ ”

As the first day of the 7th Biblical Month, which is dependent upon sighting the first visible sliver of the new moon, we can never be sure of the exact timing of this feast day until it is upon us.  The bible doesn’t give us a reason for the observance of this day, but many scriptures and other Jewish sources indicate that it MAY point prophetically to the date of the resurrection of the dead (Yahshua’s return in the clouds).  The bible teaches that the exact timing of Yahshua’s return is unknown to any but Yahweh and that it will come as a thief in the night, accompanied by the blast of the shofar.

Lev. 23:26-28 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying: “Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to Yahweh. And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before Yahweh your Mighty One.

The Day of Atonement is the holiest day of the year, a day of FASTING and PRAYER, when the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies and through a very specific ceremony, atone for the sins of the Nation of Israel.  This was for national atonement as opposed to individual atonement, which was available through the normal sacrificial system. Hebrews 9-10 explains Yahshua’s role as our High Priest and how His blood provides atonement for our sins, once and for all time, in a way that the blood of bulls and goats could never do.

This day may also coincide with the Battle of Armageddon (Rev 19), when Yahshua will ride a white horse into battle, with the armies of heaven following, to judge the nations.  This will occur immediately before the 1000 year reign of Yahshua on the earth.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  As this is a fast day, no food or drinks will be served.

Lev 23:39-43 ‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month… you shall keep the feast of Yahweh for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest…You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your Mighty One.’ ”

Many consider this the best festival of the year as we all gather around the campgrounds in tents and RVs for eight days of great messages, fun and fellowship!

The feast is a reminder of the 40 years of wandering in the desert as Yahweh prepared His people to enter into the promised land. The future fulfillment is in the 1000 year reign of Messiah on the earth as Yahweh prepares His people to enter into His Kingdom!
