MATTHEW 24 AND RELATED PROPHECY

A Brief Comparison of Views

Numbered items present the biblical message of Scriptures. Those marked with an asterisk * present non-biblical views - views which are the reverse of the biblical message, but are, nevertheless, held as sacred truth, and were supposedly fulfilled in 70 C.E. All deal with the Messiah's second coming as presented in Matthew 24, and related Scriptures.

  1. The Messiah comes publicly, in great splendor (Mt. 24:30 - 44).

    *     The Messiah comes secretly (in 70 C.E) (Mt. 24:6 - 8).

  1. Israel is rescued from their enemies (Zech. 14:1 - 9; Rev. 19:11 - 21).

    *     Israel is NOT  rescued from their enemies. Instead, the Roman army is "saved." Jerusalem,

the capitol city of Israel, is destroyed.

  1. The Messiah establishes the Kingdom of Israel - the kingdom of Yahweh (Mt. 25:31; Luke 1:32).

    *    The Messiah does NOT establish the Kingdom of Israel. Instead, Israel's enemies are

          established (made stronger).

  1. The Kingdom of Israel (of Yahweh) then covers all of planet earth - all dominions "UNDER the whole heaven" (Dan. Ch. 7).

    *    The Kingdom of Israel disappears from planet earth. The Roman Empire is strengthened,

          covering much of the earth.

  1. The Beast (the man of Sin) is destroyed (1 Thes. 2:1 - 11, esp. V 8: Rev. 17:13; Dan. 7:27).

    *    The Beast (the Roman Emperors) are NOT destroyed, but continue to rule and prosper for

          more than four centuries.

  1. The city Babylon is destroyed - totally and forever (Rev. 18).

    *     The city Babylon (Rome) is NOT destroyed, but continues for another 1,900 years.

  1. The armies of the Beast are destroyed (Rev. 19:11 - 21).

    *     The armies of the beast (Rome) are NOT destroyed in 70 C.E., but continue to destroy for

           hundreds of years afterward.

  1. No other kingdoms are left on planet earth - only the Kingdom of Yahweh - of Israel (Dan. 2:44; 7:27; Rev. 11:15).

    *    Many kingdoms are left on earth, but NOT A SIGN of the promised Kingdom of Yahweh - the

          Kingdom of Israel.
