YAHSHUA

Some sincerely believe that Yahshua the Messiah - the Savior who died for us - was in ancient time the El (the Yahweh) of the Old Testament. These believe The Supreme Being, Yahweh the Father, was so far removed from mankind that he never, at any time, contacted mankind. All contacts were made by Yahweh the Son (Yahshua), the El of the Old Scriptures. The Deity who contacted Israel and the prophets of old was not Yahweh the Father, but "Yahweh the Son" - Yahweh #2 (Yahshua). In other words, it is proposed there existed, not a Trinity, but a DUEL Deity, consisting of two persons. This doctrine is usually presented as follows:

  • Yahweh #1 (Yahweh, the Father), is the Supreme Being);

          (1) Who in ancient times never communicated with mankind;

          (2) Who depended on "Yahweh the Son" to do everything.

  • Yahweh #2 (Yahweh, the Son), Yahshua before he was conceived as a baby in Mary's womb, was the one who:

          (1) Created the heavens and the earth, and all in them;

          (2) Made all the contacts with mankind which were made;

          (3) Was the Elohim of Israel;

          (4) Gave the ten Commandments to Israel;

          (5) Spoke to the prophets of old;

          (6) Was born of Mary, the Jewish woman;

          (7) Lived in Israel for a period of about 33 years.

          (8) Died on Mount Calvary at the hands of lawless men;

          (9) Was raised from the dead to immortality.

The teaching that two Yahweh's existed in ancient times (or today) is wrong on several counts. Since sincerity alone does not establish truth, let us examine Biblical evidence for a better understanding.

  • There is only ONE Yahweh; not two, three, or a dozen (Deut. 4:35 - 39).

  • Yahweh alone is the one true El (Isa. 43:10, 11).

  • Yahweh alone is the one true Eloah (Ps. 18:31).

  • Yahweh alone is the one true Elohim (Isa. 45:21). Ask for more info on the word elohim.

  • To have lived throughout the centuries, Yahweh #2 (Yahshua) would have had to be a Spiritualy Being (a Deity).

What do Scriptures reveal? The spiritual body does not come first, but second. The fleshly body comes first and only later comes the spiritual body (1 Cor. 15:46). Yahshua was 100% man. Any who deny this is anti-messiah (1 John 2:2, 3; 2 John 7). That which is born of the flesh is FLESH, and that which is born of the spirit is SPIRIT (John 3:6). Man which is born of woman must remain flesh until the resurrection. Yahshua was born of woman, so he was only a physical MAN - a man filled with the spirit OF Yahweh, true, but still only man - flesh (Heb. 5:7). He became a spiritual being only later - at his resurrection from the dead (1 Cor. 15:44; 20 - 23).

The notion that Yahshua was both 100% man and 100% Deity is only nonsense. It is an impossibility for a man to be 200%. As the above Scriptures indicate, Yahshua had to be one or the other. He could not have been both at the same time.

The Yahweh of Abraham Could Swear By No Greater

  • "For when Yahweh made a promise to Abraham, since he had NO ONE GREATER by whom to swear, he swore by himself, ... (Heb. 6:13, 16).

Think, my friends, think!

  • This was the Yahweh of the Old Testament.

  • The Yahweh who talked with Abraham.

  • The Yahweh who talked to Moses.

  • The Yahweh who gave the Decalogue to Israel.

  • The Yahweh to whom Yahshua prayed.

This Yahweh could not have been Yahweh #2 (that is, Yahshua) because, if Yahshua existed at that time, Yahweh the Father was greater. Yahweh #2 could have sworn by Yahweh #1 (the Father), who was and is greater (John 15:28). He did not do so. There was none greater than himself by whom to swear. This was the Mighty ONE of Israel, the one and only Yahweh, not Yahshua (Yahweh #2).

A Dead Yahweh?

Spiritual Beings cannot die (Luke 20:34 -36). If Yahshua was the Yahweh of the Old Scriptures who communicated with the prophets, he was also a Spiritual Being - a Deity. Therefore he could not have been subject to death. Do other Scriptures indicate the same truth? Indeed yes. Scriptures indicated the one and only Yahweh of the patriarchs and of the fathers - the Yahweh who gave the Decalogue and who "spoke to the prophets" of old - this Yahweh was ever-living. This Mighty One continues forever. This Yahweh never dies.

"Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and called there on the name of Yahweh, the everlasting El" (Gen. 21:33). An El who would never die. One who would never cease to exist as an El.

"Yahweh will reign for ever and ever" (Ex 15:18). The Yahweh of the Old Scriptures was to reign forever and ever. He would not live for 33 years as a common citizen of Israel, with no throne. The Yahweh of Israel would not DIE and be deprived of life (cease to live and reign), and lay in the graved for 72 hours.

"For I <<Yahweh whom Moses worshiped>> lift up my hand to heaven, and SWEAR, as I live for ever, ... I will take vengeance ... "(Deut. 32:40, 41). This is a sworn oath. Just as Yahweh lives for ever (does not die, does not lay in the grave 72 hours), just that sure he will take vengeance on his enemies.

"But Yahweh sits enthroned forever, ... "(Ps. 9:7; 102:12; 29:10). The Yahweh who spoke to the prophets never lost his high position. He never came to earth as an humble and rejected prophet of Israel. Instead, he sits as a king - enthroned forever.

"Yahweh, ...before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, FROM everlasting TO everlasting THOU ART EL" (Ps 90:1, 2; 41:13). The Yahweh of King David (the ever living One) has always been, and will always be El. Therefore, never was there a time when he was not a Mighty One - a Deity. This is not true of Yahshua the Son of Yahweh.

"...but thou, O Yahweh, art on high for ever" (Ps 92:8). Again, never was there a time when the Yahweh of Israel would be subjected to death and the grave.

"Have you not known? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting Elohim, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He <<not they>> does not faint or grow weary, ..." (Isa. 40:28). This was not the man from Nazareth. Yahshua sometimes grew weary (John 4:6).

"But Yahweh is the true Elohim; He <<not they>> is the living Elohim and the everlasting king" (Jer. 10:10). There are no gaps in the life of the true Elohim. He has always lived - continuously.

"But thou, O Yahweh, doest reign for ever; thy throne endures to all generations: (Lam. 5:19). There was never to be a time when the Yahweh of Israel ceased to reign. This could not be true, however, if Yahshua was the Yahweh of Israel. The record indicates Yahshua did not reign for 33 years while on earth, plus 1900 years following this. He is still waiting, even today, to establish his rulership, his kingship (Mt. 25:31).

"At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and  honored him who lives for ever; ... he DOES ACCORDING TO HIS WILL in the hosts of heaved AND AMONG THE INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH; and none can stay his hand or say to him, WHAT DOEST THOU" (Dan. 4:35, 35).

The Yahweh of Daniel did, and still does, whatever he chooses and none can question his right to do so. But this would not be true if the Son of Yahweh (Yahshua) was Daniel's Yahweh. He would have been obligated to give account to Yahweh the Father for his actions (John 14:31). Again, we see that the Yahweh of Daniel both reigned and lived for ever. No gaps in his life span!

"I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion men tremble and fear before the Elah of Daniel, for his is the living Elah, ENDURING FOR EVER: ..." (Dan. 6:26).

"The man clothed in linen, ... raised his right hand and his left toward heaven [where the only Yahweh dwells]; and I heard him SWEAR by him who lives for ever ..." (Dan. 12:7). This is not a casual statement, but an oath, based on the fact that the Yahweh of the Old Scriptures lives "for ever," with never a gap in his life-span.

Brethren, let us humbly accept the message in Scripture. There exists ONE and only ONE Yahweh (Deut. 6:4; Isa. 45:5, 6). This is Yahweh, the heavenly Father who lives for ever, FROM everlasting TO everlasting. This is not Yahshua the Son of Yahweh - the one who died - the one who ceased to live for 72 hours.
